Rebecca Huss

Rebacca_image0_edited.jpg

Rebecca Huss obtained her B.S. in Chemistry from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY. She began research in the Sibi group in July 2022. Her current research project focuses on using β,β-disubstituted starting materials (containing heteroatoms) in various enantioselective transformations.

Kajal Somani

Kajal Somani is a graduate student in the Sibi group. She joined the Sibi group in Fall 2024. She completed her Master's in Organic Chemistry from St. Xavier's College, India, in 2020. Following her graduation, she worked in the pharmaceutical industry until June 2024. Currently, in the Sibi group, her research focuses on Synergistic catalysis.

Aleena Raju

Aleena Raju obtained her master's degree in chemistry from Vellore Institute of Technology, India, after completing her bachelor's degree from Mahatma Gandhi University, India. She began working with us in the Summer 2023, and her current project involves chiral diamine ligand fluxional chirality.

Dr Sagar Thorat

Dr. Sagar received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India, in 2021 under Dr. Ravindar Kontham. He joined the Sibi group in November 2022 after serving as a senior research associate. His Ph.D. work focused on total synthesis and methodology development, and his current research centers on biomass, where he synthesizes novel monomers for polymer synthesis and explores 3D printing applications. He is also contributing to the enantioselective installation of all-carbon chiral quaternary centers through cooperative catalysis.

Dr Anna Renner

Dr C. Gangadurai

Anna Renner obtained her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University. As a graduate student she worked in the research group of Professor Andrew Myers and synthesized structurally modified tetracyclines with anticancer activity. Anna joined the Sibi group as a postdoctoral researcher in April 2024 and is conducting research on the preparation of biomass-derived monomers for polymer synthesis.

Dr C. Gangadurai obtained his PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli, India under the mentorship of Prof. S. Muthusamy in 2018. Then he moved to CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune India and worked as a CSIR-Research associate under the tutelage of Dr D. Srinivasa Reddy in 2021. After that he worked as a senior research scientist at TCG Lifesciences, Kolkata. He  joined the Sibi group as a postdoctoral researcher on May 1st, 2024.

Hari Subramanian_edited.jpg

Dr Hariharaputhiran Subramanian received his PhD in 2018 from North Dakota State University (NDSU) under the supervision of Prof. Mukund P. Sibi. He is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at NDSU. His research interests include development of catalytic enantioselective reactions and polymer chemistry.

Md. Mehedi Hasan

Md. Mehedi Hasan earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemistry from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh. After that, he joined the Sibi group in the fall of 2024. His goal is to contribute to the development of environmentally friendly materials by bridging the gap between cutting-edge chemistry and practical applications. His current research focuses on the synthesis of biobased monomers for polymer coating applications.
